Preparing your home for an American Bully puppy

6 August 2026

Puppy pickup is the day you have been waiting for — and also the start of a busy, rewarding routine. American Bully (we focus mainly on Pocket) thrives in family life when they get clear rules, a calm start, and a safe space.

Before you collect your puppy

Have the basics ready so the first days are not a shopping scramble:

A safe space at home

Hide cables, small objects, toxic plants and chemicals. American Bully puppies are curious — limit access to part of the house at first and expand territory as routines settle.

If children live at home, agree on quiet approaches, no noise near the bed, and rest breaks. Puppies sleep a lot and recover from new stimuli.

The first days after pickup

Puppies leave from 10 weeks of age, with ABKC papers and health documentation. Week one is adaptation — fewer visitors, short walks (depending on vaccinations), fixed feeding times and calm contact.

Do not expect perfect manners overnight. Habits take time. We stay available after pickup for questions about food, daily rhythm and small decisions.

What we focus on at the kennel

Parents are screened for hips and heart, and puppies grow up with us at home with daily socialization. That is not a lifetime health guarantee — but it is a stronger start than chance. Planning a purchase? See Litters and Reservation terms.
